In their position? i think you need to go up i n person and seee for yourself...They totally walk past you without even bothering to look at you. Its not because they have a bunh of requests since they dont because they are known to ignore requests...maybe its in their contracts but other than that they are just plain full of themselves. They are great players im not going to deny that. Anotehr athlete that is full of himself is Michael Phelps... Not only does he ignore your requests but he is rude about it too... there are alot other players who are as good and popular as them yet they still have time to sign, may take long but they sign example is Josh Hamilton, Joey Votto, Mitch Moreland, and others too...Piranha316 wrote:I'm not trying to defend them (at least not totally) by any means. It would be nice if everyone took the time to sign at least an occasional autograph. That said, it is also easy for us to judge when we are not in their position.jrodriguez8600 wrote:Or maybe its that they dont want to sign, if they were to get alot of requests there would be a couple successes but they are known to not sign at all...maybe for big bucks but thats it...

Re: yankee players
I think Bob Cerv now charges a 5.00 fee. I could be wrong though.

Re: yankee players
It all depends on who you write and send fanmail to, epsecially when it comes to any of the current roster players for the New York Yankees. For instance, A-Rod will not respond or sign fanmail. You will eventually get back whatever items to had original sent to him along with a 5 X 7 picture photo and his facsimile sigature on the photo with a typed letter from his sports agency. Now if you get the opportunity to get to a New York Yankees spring training game, A-Rod is very fan friendly and will sign autographs, however it all depends on where your located either inside or outside the stadium whether its in Tampa or if he is traveling with the team playing away.
I wrote a fan letter to Derek Jeter sending him an 8 x 10 photo and a baseball card and three months later, I got my items returned to me unsigned along with a hand written note by a secretary of Jeter telling me that he would be willing to sign for me if I provided a financial donation towards his foundation. I haven't had the opportunity to resend the items along with a donation but I plan on doing it this season.
I sent fanmail to Mark Texiria back in 2010 and I still haven't heard back from him. The same with Robinson Cano and CC Sabathia. I just recently wrote to Curtis Granderson sending him a baseball card, but I don't expect to hear back from him either. Nick Swisher and Brett Gardner on the other hand I've heard are very good at responding to fanmail and signing autographs as well as if you meet them in person at a regular season game or spring training game. I plan on sending fanmail them within the next month or so.
As for Russell Martin, I haven't heard anything about him, however it doesn't hurt to try. Andy Pettitte and Mariano Rivera are very fan friendly if you get the opportunity to get their signatures in person or you send famail to them. Pettitte will respond to your fanmail either C/O New York Yankees or his home in Texas. As for the other New York Yankee starting pitchers relief pitchers, and other utility players, i can't say for sure if they're hit or miss.

I got Teixeira TTM while he was with Texas. You can forget it now. Granderson will not sign your item, however will send a signed card. It matches perfectly with a auto my friend got at a book signing he did.I was able to get Cano TTM his 2nd year. He will take about a year. I sent to CC, Martin, Joba and AJ Burnett last year and haven't gotten them back.
