Hi,
any thoughts on the authenticity of John Glenn TTMs? I'm wondering about this since most of the other astronauts want cash for their signatures.. Thanks for your thoughts.

Re: John Glenn
John Glenn's autographs are authentic. He uses a computer to do the personalization, but the signature is authentic.
My mother was a science teacher (space was her specialty) and wrote to him in the 60's or 70's. When I wrote to him either late 90's or early 2000's, the signature is still almost identical.

Let's say that the autographs are indeed genuine.Selise wrote:John Glenn's autographs are authentic. He uses a computer to do the personalization, but the signature is authentic.

I would argue that most probably he doesn't do the personalizations by himself. I have a theory that he maybe doesn't want his secretary to add personalizations written (and therefore let people think that he himself did it) and so the secretary adds them using a computer onto pre-signed photos. Maybe it's just my wishful thinking but I from what I can tell, Mr. Glenn has a character.
Re: John Glenn
The signatures on these pictures are pretty close - I have always considered the possibility that they good be good autopens.
I may be wrong, but I believe I read once that NASA provides autopen machines to most of their astronauts.

Re: John Glenn
They are definitely not autopen - he'd have to have A LOT of different templates (since I've seen many of these photos from him and not two signatures match 100%)Chris102 wrote:The signatures on these pictures are pretty close - I have always considered the possibility that they good be good autopens.
