Chris Evans ("Fantastic Four")

Unread post by lizane »

Hi! ;-)

I've been wondering about my Chris Evans autographs lately, I have two signed & personalised photos from him which I got on different occations. Here's the quick details:
First success:
Sent: 13 July 2007
Received: 5 September 2007
Scan:

Second success:
Sent: 30 August 2007
Received: 20 September 2007

Now, the first success is all signed in the same marker. However, in the second autograph (black & white photo), it is clear that the personalisation was done in a different pen than the autograph itself. :? So, it would seem obvious that Chris actually signed it but either later added the dedication himself (which seems to be a trend lately) or his secretary did it. And what about the first autograph - it the whole thing authentic or secretarial?

I did some research myself, and here's some examples from AutographWorld.com:

As you can see, Chris signs either just his name or his name and surname, same as in my autographs. {up} But, notice the way he just signs "Chris" - the "h" is always sharp, it has a sharp point. But in my first success from him (the colour photo), it is very round and curly. :? And compared to my second success, that one has sharp lines (the b&w photo). :neutral: So this is what first made me think the dedication in my second autograph is sec, as it matches the first one (which I start to believe is secretarial). Then there's the round and curly lines in the first auto, but the b&w one looks authentic. {up}

As far as I know, Chris does write in all caps, here's a very tiny pic to prove this (his autograph is the right one, and under his signature he wrote "HUMAN TORCH"):

I don't know for certain that Chris wrote the following, but the chances are good enough plus the handwriting looks very alike to the dedication on my photos:

I'd love to hear your opinions on this as I'm a but puzzled by it all. :? One moment I think both autographs are all authentic, the next I think just the signature on the b&w photo is real, so now I don't know anymore and I'd love to hear others' thoughts. {thumb2} If anyone can post other examples of Chris' autograph or handwriting, I will appreciate it very much! :)

Thanks!

The black and white autograph looks a lot like the one I got in person from him, looks authentic to me. And as for the color one I think it's is authentic also.
Here's another example of Chris's autograph for you to compare with.

Although it looks slightly more rushed then yours. The characteristics are the same.

Thank you for the help, wheniam6 and guilder1st. {thumb2} And thanks for the scan, guilder1st - that one looks similar to my colour photo, the "Ch" part. {up} I'm glad to hear the autograph on the b&w photo matches your in person one, so I can at least be very sure of that one! :D
