Cal Ripken Jr. Book

I traded books recently with someone and the book I received is by Baseball HOF'er Cal Ripken Jr.

The book has an "Autographed Copy" sticker on the cover. However, the autograph inside doesn't even remotely look real. It looks like a stamp to me.

Anybody know much about this sort of thing with books?
