The one's I am familiar with look good. I wouldn't have a problem buying from them.

Hi there,

I am wondering about this signed Footloose poster. I am the one who bought it last night, but now I'm having major doubts about it. It is supposedly signed by five cast members - all the most famous ones: Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, Sarah Jessica Parker, John Lithgow, and Dianne Wiest. It comes with an unsigned Certificate of Authenticity from a defunct place called "Autograph Hunters" out of Montrose, CA.

To me, the red flags are the following:

- Poster itself is fairly recent, not from the time of Footloose, so no chance that it could have been signed at movie premier

- All these sigs would have taken a long time to collect...seems too good to be true

- All sigs are in the same pink and purple ink, which seems unrealistic

- I found two other multi-signed posters from the same original dealer online - "Titanic" and "Dazed and Confused" and both were multi-signed by nine, count em NINE, of the starring actors. Seems way too good to be true.

Here is what it has going for it:

The signatures do appear very different from each other (except that they're all basically the same size). The Lori Singer & John Lithgow signatures especially look like good matches to their very distinctive real-life signatures.

Please tell me what you guys think. I feel like it is most likely a fake...but I so very much WANT it to be real. lol!

You are right in thinking those are fake. And very bad ones at that.

Thanks for responding. What is it specifically that makes you say that the autographs are "bad" fakes? Most of them resemble the authentic signatures, though some better than others...
