Re: Mickey Mantle autograph
Its all up to you, if you feel confident enough to spend your own $$ on it...thats all that matters. From the Mantles I've seen over the years, I don't like it. Before dropping some serious $$, I'd probably also get a PSA opinion or JSA.
Re: Mickey Mantle autograph
Like I said before, I do not like him or the way he does business He used to be an authenticator with Jerry Gladstone and Chris Morales with the American Royal Arts (ARA) auctions who have been sued and investigated by just about everyone, including the FBI for selling forgeries. You can watch the report on 20/20 or Insider or just Google it. It's not pretty.
He also has atrocious grammar and is rude to his customers on a daily basis. I would never do business with him but if you want to pay for a COA with the word 'Authenticity' spelled wrong than go for it.

Who wants to go into business? Let's start an on line authentication company. PAAS is charging 7.00? We can charge 6.50 and all we have to do is say "Likely to be genuine" or "We think so'' wording will resolve us of all liabilty so no big deal if we get it wrong it's all about the cash. lmao0
Never argue with an idiot. They drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.
Re: Mickey Mantle autograph
I always say the best way to authenticate anything is to know the items history and establish it's provenance. If you are collecting for yourself, authenticate it yourself. Find out the history, where it was signed, when, by whom, for whom, etc. If the seller can't answer your questions, I wouldn't buy it from them. There are a lot of so called "experts" out there, some who are more respected than others. If you are collecting to resell it or to have the value increased by a third party authentication than I would go with someone a little more professional than PAAS. Just my opinion, I do a lot of business with Christie's and other auction houses and I have never heard of them using PAAS.

Re: Mickey Mantle autograph
I was told that the auotgraph is likely genuine just a sloppy autograph as he must of tried squeezing his signature onto the top of the card on the yellow to keep it clear.
