I have seen reported successes with actress Elizabeth Taylor. Some say they are authentic, some get pre prints, and others say autopen. What is the truth? I would like her autograph but I do not wish to buy a photo if it is just going to be an autopen signature

The truth is some are autopens and some are handsigned. Theres no way of telling what you'll get, its just luck.
