Paul Newman personal letter and picture...

I wrote Paul Newman for a school project in 1968 and received a personalized signed letter and picture. I suspect it was signed by a secretary, but would like to know for sure. This was right before he stopped giving autographs. Does anyone have a suggestion for how I can get it authenticated? Thanks!

Hello,
We can help you if you will provide a scan :)
As for getting it authenticated PSADNA is one of the most trusted companies out there.

Great. Here's an image of the letter and picture. I've also included a note from Kim Hunter that I'm wondering about too. http://www.becomeatechnicalwriter.com/autograph.html

Thanks for your help.

I'm going to say the the Paul Newman is secretarial. Kim Hunter was a very good signer and it's most likely authentic.

As for professional authenticators, most are a waste of money, but definitely DO NOT use PSADNA they are awful and have authenticated PPs as authentic before.

Thanks Dobie,

I thought it probably was secretarial. But boy, as a kid, it was amazing to believe.

After comparing your autograph with a few Paul Newman known authentic examples. I am leaning towards secretarial myself. Paul Newman had a very distinct way of doing the N in Newman. Also the N and E overlapped each other. It's something that none of the secretaries have been able to copy correctly.
A few examples of what I mean you can see here.

PSADNA have made some mistakes in the past, but they are still one of the biggest authentication companies in the industry.

As for the autograph, I would say it is a sec-, however, a different sec- to the most recent one (the one he used before his death).

So because they're "one of the biggest" means we should ignore the many, MANY mistakes they've made in the past?

"In the past" as you have stated ;-)

What authentication companies do you suggest anyways?

Jason.
