Signed Iron Man DVD - Opinions Please

Unread post by Elusive Miss »

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWNX:IT

I e-mailed the seller at length about this one and here's what it boils down to:

I basically asked him why he was selling this with such a low selling price and why he was selling at all - these are his responses to my questions:

lol.. um.. not sure, Im just not as big a RDJ fan as others and I felt this would be great for someone who would be able to really appreciate it.

Its okay, I am about to relist it anyway. And yes, it was gotten in person. I was in Vegas for a collectors convention and got a place in the signing. Signed right in front of me. RDJ is a real nice guy.

The particular event I was at had a bit of everything. I am also varied. I love autographs, but I also like rare old coins, miniature model bicycles and motorcycles. I like everything you know, I have a wide pallet :) I go to any convention I can, big or small, because its the smaller ones where you usually find the gems!

Best Wishes and Hope you get some good stuff in
the future!

I won it and am hoping I made the right choice! Opinions wanted!

Sorry but both autographs look fake. I would have stayed away from this based on three things. #1 No "genuine" source of authenticity. What the seller has is nothing better than a piece a paper. Anyone could have made it up. #2 There is only the sellers word, there is no proof ( photo or video ) showing Downey or Howard signing the item. The video that the seller included shows nothing but him showing off the item. And, most important, #3 His sellers response level is at 93%. This may seem high to you but in ebay that is considered a low number.

Thank you for your opinion. I know that his feedback wasn't 100% - this is due to his being new and having one bad experience. I guess what gets me is that doesn't sell autographs, so why throw up one fake? T. Howard's looks very close to the one I have on my official Iron Man card from Rittenhouse... *sigh* maybe it was to good to be true.

Anyone else?

More than one fake. Did you look at the signed Ohio State shirt he/ she claims to have gotten in person? Absolute garbage.

...and now I am terribly sad. I have NEVER bought an autographed item off of Ebay, but after 4 boxes on Iron Man cards, I took a chance on a Downey Jr., as he's my most wanted. I feel the need to cry now if it's truly money wasted. I know NOTHING of sports autographs, and hadn't even seen the shirt when I bid, just the bikes.

So here's me trying to make myself feel better.

Being that these two cards are from the same card set and signed differently, I may just have to play pretend... Has anyone else had to do this?
