Presidential NAFTA photo signed

Unread post by countpaul »

I posted this a few weeks ago, but was having trouble with people seeing the photo on my link. Here is what I originally wrote.

I bought this photo at President Clintons Inauguration. I was trying to get them all in person but unfortunatley I had to send it to The Gores, Bill Clinton and Mrs. Carter. Jimmy Carter and Hillary and the Ford's were signed in person....any help, please.

I don't know about the rest, but the Bill Clinton one doesn't look so great. It's perfectly straight, plus you can see the usual AP dots in it. I'd like to be wrong for your sake, so maybe someone will correct me.

Thanks, yeah it would not be good if his is autopen and I don't dare try any chemicals to get his off because it might hurt the other signatures. After Hillary signed it they said they would take care of getting him to sign it. They said they would send it over to his office, they were going to have one of her interns take it over. Please no intern jokes...lol

Presidential autographs are notoriously hard to authenticate because of obvious reasons.

Here is a Bill Clinton from my collection to compare.

First off thats a great photo you have...On the authenticity of Bill Clinton its definatly tough to say. He has so many different AP styles that he uses all the time. I would like to believe that its authentic but who knows. Bill is not that tough to get in person. Maybe you should have done a little research on where he was going to be and have him sign it in front of you. It would have been worth it already haveing all the other signitures on it, make sure his is legit. Great photo again! [us]

Thanks, well my niece and I met Pres Clinton in Chicago for his book signing.......he was very nice but secret service wouldn't let me bring the photo into the book store. They did let me bring my drawing in of him as a teenager with his recently deceased mother and he asked if he could keep it. :) I have a copy of it though.

You have to find the guy in charge {up}

Presidential signatures are not easy to obtain as you well know.. it takes patience, good timing and a little bit of luck :-)

Thanks. , and reason you think the Gore is fake? I have a copy of this picture I sent with this one to the Gores and the signatures are differnt. I also sent this second picture to the Ford's.....the signed my original in person....and pres Carter signed them both in person, why he signed it over Clinton I don't know? And I also sent it to Mrs Carter. I had that one inscribed to me. Mrs Carter wrote to Paul, with best wishes as did Pres. Ford and Al Gore.

I can't be sure, but in the photo you posted the Gore signature looks like one of his autopen matrices. I will check to see if I have a sample of it.

BTW, most Gore autographs out there are either autopen or secretarial signatures. Up until recently his office was sending out secretarial signatures, but then started autopenning again. If you look at signatures from his office from the past 5-6 years, they look nothing like his signature. Just something to keep in mind ;-)
