I guess there is this rumor that Montana had a "ghost signer" signing all his fan mail...could never find any actual verified proof of it however, just an old wives tale and hearsay. So I decided to try and create some, one way or the other. Emailed Joe's son Nate, a QB at ND, about the matter. Just a nice respectful note making him aware of what I sent Joe, where it was sent, and whether he had any intimate knowledge of whether the cards I received were signed by Joe or not. Now, he could have just ignored me...but instead he actually emailed me back and stated "he handles all of his mail personally so Id assume they're signed by him". That puts the rumor to rest for me and I thought it might be useful to others as well. Haters are going to hate...bored people will always talk, but I think Nate is a powerful source on the subject.
BTW...have the email and I'm perfectly willing to forward it to an admin or mod for verification...but I'm not forwarding it to random people on here. Someone that represents this site and that I know is mature enough to stand by their word and keep the file to themselves, I'm fine with. Thank you.

It's not a rumor or an old wives tale, it's the truth. The autograph does not match authentics of his. People will always believe what they want to believe, but Joe signing TTM has been proven to be secretarial for years.

Proven by what. I have a certified and 2 TTM...they match perfectly. I think people get too caught up in a signature needing to be impeccable for it to pass as "authentic". I usually receive 3 autographs back per request because I do it for my 2 sons as well...plenty of times autograph #3 differs slghtly or completely from autograph #1. Imagine if you sign hundreds of items at once...your signature is gonna start getting lazy and differing from the first 50 or so. I get lazy after I sign my name 10 times in logbooks at the jail I work at...I can't even imagine sitting down in front of hundreds of autograph requests or those sheets of damn stickers they sign nowadays. I'm not calling anyone a liar really but don't tell me its a "fact" if there's no existing evidence to support it...I haven't seen any. Ill take Nate Montana's word until I see different.

Re: Joe Montana "Ghost Signer" rumor
I have IP (received when he was dealing with a crowd of people) and TTM from Joe and I would agree that they look very authentic. All of my sigs IP were not identical either. You have a ton of people and you are trying to move on to do your business and you scribble. I would agree with HamillFan-80 the signatures can look different and I appreciate the information the information they received from Nate being shared here.
