Gene Wilder Real or not?

I wrote Gene a letter and sent him this photo. A few months later I got it back signed and personalized (matching purple ink as welll) along with a smaller address card I had thrown in there (I didn't intend for him to sign it but he did anyways..kinda neat). The photo I sent him was the same one I got back because I wrote the serial number down from the back of it. Anyways, what bothers me is that the "i" and "l" in "Wilder" are not connected. Everything else seems to match including that little "knick" at the top of his "W".
