OK My great grandma passed away a few months ago 94 years old, and they were having an estate sale today. They had this picture she got when she donated to the former president and had "free" on it. Nobody seemed interested so I told them I was going to take it home and just check and see if it was by any chance real. I mean it looks like it could be a pp or ap and usually I am good about this sort of thing, but I really am not sure and didn't want to just tell them to give it away if it was real, because it could be more or less a piece of history, you know? I certainly wasn't a big fan of his or anything and I just was curious if anyone was familiar with this more than I was.

This is going to sound kind of weird, but this just made me remember my grandfather also had something very similar to this. He had this same picture hanging up in his hallway but he passed away back in '07 and i havn't seen or even thought of it until now. I have no idea if it's real or not, probably auto penned though. Im going to try and figure out what happened to my grandfathers pic like this, hope it wasn't throw away...

Shame that it isn't signed on the actual picture cause shining direct light on the ink should change its color. If it doesn't change color then it is a preprint. Anyone can test this theory by just signing their own name on a picture they have lying around and seeing how in the light their signature changed color.

Unless this is your picture without the names blacked out, the signatures appear to be absolutely identical (http://chrisnbarb.com/george&lauraBush.jpg), so either printed or autopen, depending on whether the signatures are under the gloss on the paper (hold it up and wobble it about under a reasonably strong light), or on top of it.

yeah, thanks. I usually am good with the autopen or pp thing but wanted to be safe. And no, not my picture with the names blocked out. Mine says New York on it and theirs says Florida. I blocked out the name on mine out of respect for my grandmother. Thanks. I will give it back to them and tell them they can do what they want with it. I just didn't want them to give it away if it was anything important

yes i do agree it does look auto pen sorry but still its a great photo !!!
