Hi, I sent a letter, picture, index card and SASE to Brian Wilson when he was performing in the Southbank Center/Royal Festival Hall on 16 - 18 sep.
Today 1st of October, I received my things back unsigned and this bigger picture signed.
They sent their own envelope too.
What do you guys think?

Congrats on an autograph from a music legend. Have any advice for another fan having success? I think the Beach Boys tour may be over...Any suggestions (from the success-ee or anyone else?)

Hi! Sorry for late reply, I'm sure there will be more shows to come. I don't have any special advice really, I just wrote like a normal via venue. Make sure the venue passes on mail though.

Looks like a PP? Never seen him sign that well for ages. If not a PP, this is a great success.

bret6262 wrote:It is great that you got your item back- but like the above poster he mostly just writes a B and a line if he even signs at all and his assistant/ life manager/ etc. Jeff Foskett hovers over him constantly and also signs for him in many circumstances. I hope its real but the last time I got him at a actual signing where he even sat at a table and sined it was B___. And that was the good one.
Agreed, this sig hasn't been seen since the late eighties. I never got my VV request back
Its nice though, the picture is really good

I don't want to rain on the parade of the person that had this success and rain on my own parade because I would love to get an authentic sig from BW BUT I think the fact that BW looks tons younger than now is also a tip-off that it's a PP. <sigh> I guess the greats and legends don't sign anymore or at least send authentic, non-PPs.
An E for Effort though to the person that sent BW a VV request! I'm pondering whether I should try or not after this success and revelation about BW. I did send a TTM request to BW's home address and have heard zip...

Sorry but I got a few Brian's in person & at best it's a B & a W each followed by a bit of a squiggle. At very worst its an illegible squiggle. He did that on a book for me once. Yours looks like a Jeff Foskett version. I have one too. Unless you see Brian sign it in front of you, always be a little skeptical ... especially if it's neat

Mike Love & Bruce Johnston sign VV, and Al Jardine will sign TTM as well:
