Movie Poster Signature Help? Paint Pen?

Hey guys,

I have been looking for an answer to this question for awhile. I have a Back to the Future Part III Movie Poster with 11 signatures on it that I purchased on eBay. It is a full sized poster 27x40 and is glossy. My main concern comes with something I am not familiar with, which is that it looks like 4 of the signers used paint pen or the signatures are fake but I have no idea how to tell. I can take a pair of tweezers and scratch the signature off (only tried once) but you it does come off. The signature feels raised from the page also and you can follow the marker when they crossed over another letter. The other signatures are in blue sharpie (reflects red/purple in the light). These also don't appear to have the raised feel of the black ones (can't feel with fingernail). The rest are in silver sharpie it looks like. You can follow the signature when they crossed letters on these as well and you can see the groves in the pen.

If better pictures would help I can try to get some but I have been wondering this for awhile. Any help on a way to determine if they are actual signatures or fakes?

Thanks
Andy

Get your money back and burn the poster.

Everyone of those if fake... even the Christopher Lloyd and James Tolkan, who regularly do conventions.

Tom Wilson (Biff) does not sign BTTF... he hasnt in well over a decade!

B/c those are all fake!

The MJF isnt even close... and see my edited post above about some of the other signatures.

You gotta do research before you buy stuff on ebay.

The only thing that is real is the poster.

I see. Well I did do research on them and thought they all looked good when compared to these. I've had this poster awhile so if they're fake then it's what it is, chance of getting a return is long gone.

I did research and most it not all looked spot on to me. My main question was just whether or not they were real because of the feel of the signature medium themselves.

They all look autopenned or rubber stamped hence same pressure applied throughout.

In addition to some of the above reasons why the graphs are fake....

To get all those people on it IP, without having any damage to the poster over the course of time... that would have had to have been signed with all those people present at the same time... which I'm pretty sure hasn't happened since the movie was made.

Poster does have damaged to the right side which is one of the reasons I put the note card where it is to try and cover it up. PSA is coming to a store not too far away from where I am next week so I guess I'll just take it there and get it looked at then I will know for sure. Thanks
