How can you tell a pre-print from a real hand signed?

I have an autographed picture from Prince that was signed "To Ryan" and I thought was authentic if nothing else because it was personalized. However, someone else has told me that the 'graph is a pre-print. What is the best way to tell and also would someone be willing to look at a picture of it and tell me what they think?
Thank you,
Nathen

Use a Dry Erase Expo Marker!!!!. Test it and you will know!!!. At a angle you can tell, PP to a original under certain light looks different.

I should have done this in the first place - anyone that has a lot of knowledge about this subject - please look at this 'graph and tell me if you think it's a pre-print or hand signed.
Thanks,
Banato

BTW thanks for all the replies and suggestions.
A dry marker erasor would erase a PP right? I'm kind of confused on that because if it would erase a hand signed - obviously I don't want to try and erase part of the hand signed sig...

If a photo is actually signed, it reflects differently from the photo when you hold it up to light. A pre-printed signature looks no different than the rest of the photo, because it's actually a part of the picture.

Hello,
That autograph is not a preprint. The easiest way to tell in this case is that if it were a preprint, you would not be able to see through the signature. (where the signature has a white background). If it were a preprint, the signature, when viewed with a white background would be solid black, and you wouldnt be able to see through the signature at all. But i do have some bad news.
I am very familiar with prince's autograph, and the one in the picture above is a forgery. I am sorry to tell you that but i have seen that same style before. It sucks but its true. If you want to make 100 percent sure, post a thread over at autograph magazine live about it, or ask the guys at the prince website on their forum. But they unfortunately will have the same news. These days authentic prince autographs are very rare as he doesnt sign anymore. R and R auction just sold a signed photo for over 1000 dollars.
Im sorry for the bad news.
