Is Albert Pujols a good signer at games? i might be going to a reds cardinals game and i would want to try to get him. thanks

He won't just walk over to the stands and sign, that's for sure. If you know where the players go in to access the clubhouse and it's easily accessible to the public (Wrigley Field, for example, is easy as hell) you might have a shot. If the Cards are on the road, you could also try at the hotel, although many big names (Jason Heyward and Ryan Howard are the two that I've dealt with) will only sign at the field on the grounds that coming to the hotel is like standing at their house. I know nothing about Prince Albert's signing habits, but I'm guessing those two are your only shot.

The best thing to do is to buy. He doesn't sign TTM. And your chances of IP are very slim.

Near impossible to get him anywhere in person. He is so stingy with his signature, my guess because it has so much value and helps his fund raising ability for down syndrome to have an in demand signature. [He does a signing in the off season and charges like 400 something just to stand in line]

the thing that upsets me is like the guy needs money for his sig. he's got so much money already, he could self fund his own charity and still have tons for himself.

i'd say the best shot is IP during spring training. most "tough signers" even sign then

No. Pujols is nearly impossible to get. I've been to dozens of games and tried to get him every time. I came close in KC once, but not close any of the other times.

Oh, you could not be more right. I agree completely with you! The thing is that the younger guys sign like crazy, and the veterans have been there and done that already. Jeter signed when he was younger and now doesn't, just the way it is I guess.
I know we all say we would sign for anyone anywhere anytime if we were big athletes but we are outsiders looking in. Especially guys like Pujols, they are the first to get to the ballpark and the last to leave. The work that guys like Pujols and Jeter put in is unbelievable. So my theory is that since they signed when they first broke in, they realized that it's so much to do every time and you want to be fair to everyone so you choose not to sign at all. That, and when they get there they are itching to start working out and getting game ready.

Alot goes into it, but you just have to admire these guys from afar and admire their on the field work.

The worst charity ploy, in my opinion, is donating x number of dollars for each of something (golfers giving 500 per birdie, baseball teams giving per HR). If you've got the money to give, don't leave it up to chance. Just donate it. At least when Pujols does a signing, charges 250 each for 500 tickets, you know it'll sell out and that amount of money will be donated. Nothing left to chance, and it's the same as doing a fund-raising auction or sale. People buy the item, and their money is given on to the charity.
