I know this is a TTM section and most of my posts will indeed be TTM. However, this is one that I had to share. As a die-hard collector, getting the guys from the early-days are way cooler than the superstars of today (to me at least)

A guy I've been friends with for a while put together a private signing in Hawaii with UFC 1 legend Teila Tuli (Taylor Wily) not too long ago. I just received my signed picture today. I'm actually stoked to have this one.

After reading "Is This Legal?" by Art Davie and Sean Wheelock, it made me want this autograph even more. The night before the fights, the fighters had to sign some contracts and everyone had questions and the room was getting out of control. Teila was the first fighter to sign the contract and then said, “I just signed my paper. I don’t know about you guys, but I came here to party. If anyone else came here to party, I’ll see you tomorrow night at the arena.”

The entire room when silent. Everyone signed and then UFC 1 went from a dream to reality 24 hours later. Taylor has now been in a handful of movies and was a staple on Hawaii 5-0.

I was in on the Tuli signing as well and am happy to have it. After a few attempts to get him over the years, I was only successful in getting his signature as Taylor Wiley.
I am with you that getting the older signatures is more fun than the modern. I would much rather get an obscure name from UFC 1-10 than from a modern superstar who has thousands of signatures floating around.

Now that I think of it, anyone have a source to get Pete Williams? He told me through facebook years ago he would sign for me but never gave me an address. I'd like to add him to my Lions Den collection.

I've been looking for Pete Williams. I hate that his name is so common! Using social media is usually the way to go, but haven't found him.
