Yeah, the Mets have had the most unfortunate run these last two seasons.. but as bad and unfortunate all the injuries are (Wagner last year, Reyes, Beltran, Delgado and Maine this year), a lot of the blame should go towards the GM. Omar just sat there and did nothing when he should be making impact moves. And the worst thing is, it looks like he still has the job next year.

To hammer down the point of how bad things are going this season, since the last post, three more players are now out for the rest of the season.

So, any postseason predictions?

AL East - Yankees
AL Central - Twins (Close race, but I think the Tigers will choke and the White Sox have an outside shot at best.. wouldn't matter, whoever wins this division will probably get wiped out in the first round anyways)
AL West - Angels
AL Wild Card - Red Sox (I think the Rangers have a shot, but the Sox seems to have a easier schedule the rest of the way)

NL East - Phillies
NL Central - Cardinals
NL West - Rockies (I think they'll ride a hot streak and take the pennant away from the Dodgers, who'll take the Wild Card spot instead)
NL Wild Card - Dodgers

I'm a life long A's fan and at the beginning of the year I was excited because we added Holliday and Cabrera but now they are both gone and we are at the bottom of the division. Our young pitching is what killed us this year. But in the years to come I think our pitching will be like when we had Hudson, Mulder, Zito all in their prime. Plus our bullpen might be the best in the majors. So I think they will be contenders for the years to come.

I think everyone saw the Holliday thing coming.. he's a solid hitter, but nowhere as good as his Colorado-inflated numbers have suggested the past few years. He's doing great for the Cardinals right now though..

I think Oakland's weakness is still what it has always been - the offense. They've always had good pitching, both starters and relievers, but the lineup always had too many Billy Beane-esque hitters.

I am a big braves fan. I hope for the rockies to be sweeped and the braves to sweep the nats so the braves can lead the wild card.
