United were definitely disappointing yesterday. I don't see what all the hoo-ha about Rooney was ultimately : he was good for a couple of games when he signed up, but now it's like watching a three legged donkey play. He is such an overrated striker. Ferg's would benefit more by playing truly talented young strikers like Eagles or Campbell (who score goals like rabbits reproduce), but instead chooses to loan them out.

We do miss Ronaldo's influence (unfortunate, as he's got such a big ego about himself), but hopefully we can sign Berbatov still. Can't say we miss Anderson or Giggs, they're two of United's weak links.

You're surely not talking about Chris Eagles? Who has just signed for Burnley and is a right winger?

Chelsea will win the title, more strength in depth, although if either Terry or Carvalho get injured, it could be a different story.

No others will break into top four, although Villa have the best chance.

Tottenham are far too over-rated, no chance they will break into top 4 or come fifth. If berbatov goes, they will only have Darren Bent as a proper striker and thats not enough. Defence is weak and not too sure about Gomes in goal either. Need to buy quality, and soon.

Good start from Bolton but can't see them carrying on.

Fulham, Stoke & Hull to be relegated.

Fulham, most boring team in the league?

Chris Eagles, yeah. I know he's a winger, but if he's played upfront as a striker, he's lethal. I think he's an amazing talent, as is Fraizer Campbell. I'm a massive United fan, but I think Chelsea might take the title under Scolari.

I heard Lampard is now on 151,000 a week. SHOCKING.

Great goal by Torres by the way and POSH (Peterborough) won 3-0 against Leyton Orient, Isn't there someone on this forum that support Orient?

Anyway Chelsea and Posh for their respective leagues this season

UP THE POSH
Yes i find it disgusting that they earn in a week what our parents earn in 10 + years, no player is worth being paid that much

It's good to see some players play for the football and not for the money although you don't see that very often.

 I'm just saying, who would rather have as your striker - Rooney or Torres?! As much as it pains me to say it, I'd rather have Liverpool's man. Rooney is extremely overrated, and there are far better strikers out there.

As for my Giggs/Anderson criticism - no United fans I know like Anderson. Giggs was a great player back in the day - but like a commentator said on their pre-season trip here last month, he looks completely lacklustre and uninspired when he plays now. He's old, he should give Nani a shot.

Thats my Man United two-cents for the week

I really disagree with you

Lets research some of the stats shall we,

last season Wayne scored 18 goals in 43 games
In 2006/2007 he scored 23 goals in 55 games
For a striker this is decent but what more is his contribution to goals, in a lot of games when Wayne Rooney is playing Man Utd scores, In the goals that Man Utd score he's nearly always there. Although i'm not sure how many assists Wayne contributed last season i would say it would of been at least 15, so without him you wouldn't have scored 38 goals last season which shows how much he works hard.
Also have a look at this, Please listen to it.

Now to Giggs,
Ryan Giggs was an amazing player, I know that he's slowed down but the more experienced he's gotten the more he's had to use his head. Intelligence. Last season i know a lot of people wanted Nani to play and for Sir Alex Ferguson to drop Giggs but look what happened when he played, Champions League and Premier League winners (Man Utd). I am not saying that Giggs was the player he used to be but he can still do something for Man Utd for the next few seasons.

Stats,

3 goals in 42 games

Although he did not score much he did contribute to a lot of goals, Giggs is now nearly 34, his time is nearly up and i think that no one should have the right to criticise him for all hes done for Man Utd.

Ok now to Anderson

Anderson came to England with a reputation of being a player who's skillful and flamboyant, this is not what i saw last season, instead i saw a roy keane, a nicky butt, last season he had a decent season but scored no goals, he should of scored more goals but he showed a different side to his game.

Stats

0 goals in 38 games.

Overall, I think you were wrong about Wayne Rooney and Ryan Giggs but right about Anderson

Comment will be appreciated.
By the way i'm not a Man Utd supporter
I would take Rooney, not Torres

I'd take Torres over Rooney.

Firstly, I have seen Rooney play in more games than Torres, but I think that Torres is an outstanding footballer, I've seen him score better goals, and played better quality than Rooney. Also, have you noticed Rooney's attitude towards the ref? Most of the time, if Wayne doesn't agree with the ref, then he throws a strop.
Even if they do get paid millions a year for kicking a ball round a field for 90 minutes every saturday.

I agree that Rooney has a temper but it used to be much worse, thankfully he's not as bad as he used to be but you've got to understand that SAF is his manager and he can get a little fiery sometimes.
Torres vs Rooney is another debate

I think overall Torres would top it in aspects of scoring.
But contribution it has to be Rooney.
Rooney played out of position a lot in the last few seasons.
You've got to remember that.
Torres is a fantastic player. He's got it all. He scored some great goals last season but Rooney excites me more.
Terry as new captain by the way.
