The Nats are slowly putting together a good team. They still need some pitching to go with the bats that they have.

Jeter finally resigns with Yanks for 3 years, $51 million with a fourth-year option. Looks like the Yanks caved first.

Mark Reynolds got traded to Baltimore for a pair of pitchers. Don't know much about them.

I thought the signing was pretty stupid. Werth's a good player, but he also benefited from playing at an easy ballpark and good lineup for the past few years, and they're paying $18 million a year for him at ages 31 to 38. The Nats aren't a big market team, they should have saved their money until they can actually compete.

i actually like the nationals, there my second favorite team, so i really liked them picking werth up. but i do think they need lots of pitchers, but they do have Maya, Balester, and many other prospects.

Shaun Marcum goes from the Blue Jays to the Brewers for a 2B prospect.

If the Nats were actually competing, it would make sense because Werth can still be helpful for a few more years. But to pay him $18 million every year until he's 38 years old when they're still years away from being competitive? That's not a good move IMO.
