Hi.
I am also doing a charity auction for a childrens hospice.

Firstly we met with the charity's fund raisers. They supplied us with a letter of introduction. To say what we were doing was legit.

Then we Compiled a list of celebs we wanted to write.For which this site is
Brilliant for. {up}

You will need to approach couple of companies for sponsorship as postage and stuff can be expensive. :shock:

Decide on a date for the auction.

Now you need to write a letter to the stars which will tell them of the event i.e. date, location. what the charity does (quote charity reg number)
Be clear that you are not asking for a financial dontion.

Then wait for the donations to come in.

I hope this helps in a small way.

Our auction is going on the 17th june in Kent,UK.

So far we have got just over 100 lots.

Good luck :lol:

Hey courtney {up}

Good luck with your charity collection.

matt.sparks.2002 gave some great advice which I totally agree with {thumb2}

The only thing I would add is that when you write your letter, explain you are collecting signed photographs and merchandise. About a fifth of what I have collected are signed merchandise items such cd's, dvd's, books, clothing, scripts etc.

Often these type of items raise much more money at auction than standard signed photographs!

Best of luck to you both! :P
