Hello all! During 2009 I am aiming to raise as much money as I can for five charities. Items I have auctioned off so far include signed CD's (Deep Purple's Don Airey & comedian Jimmy Cricket); DVD's (Nicholas Parsons and Red Dwarf's Robert Llewellyn); signed books from Denis Smith (ex-Stoke City player), Christopher Fowler & Paul Doherty; photos from Doro Pesch & Derren Brown.
Happy to plug others fundraising chraity auctions on my blog and Facebook group as well.
Have a fair few requests outstanding and will keep trying throughout 2009
Any tips welcome please!
There are two themes as well for most of the auction items…first up it is thirty years since the New Wave of British Heavy Metal (NWOBHM) and to celebrate this I am trying to get as many signed goodies for charity auction from bands from that era like Demon, Saxon, Tygers Of Pan Tang and many more!
(I did plan to get signed football items for auction but all football clubs approached bar two said no as they only donate to local fundraising which is fair enough, hence the change).
Secondly, twenty five years ago back in 1984 I became a front of house volunteer at the Theatre Royal, Hanley (which has now sadly closed), staying until 1990 when I left Stoke. I saw many great shows there, met some lovely fellow volunteers and members of the audience. I hope to get signed items from past performers at the theatre.
These EBay charity auctions will raise funds for the Parkinsons Disease Society, the RNIB, the Donna Louise Trust, the White Lodge Centre and the Insulin Dependent Diabetes Trust (IDDT). You can view and bid the latest items here…
