I need help with my auction.

Unread post by stepslax14 »

Hi, my name is Maddy and I am 13 years old. I live in the USA. And I am currently trying to raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation because they granted two of my friends a wish. So I was wondering, who is a great giver or signer for charity? I am looking for anyone, mainly in the U.S. and Canada, to write to. Any help is appreciated.

Hi there
there a lot of people on here that try to sell autographs to other members because of charity purposes.
thats great!
But a lot of times i see these people not selling their autographs, or only selling a fraction.
I think that one of those reasons is because the autographs that they are selling are so easy to get that some people will pay less to get the autograph TTM than through an auction.
I have a "plan".
you should get into contact with Make-A-Wish foundation and tell them what your plan is.
then ask politely if they had any official stationary(with their charitable donation number...the whole works) that they could send you to mail to celebrities.
the reason I say this is: a lot of celebrities will sign ONLY for charity. and a sure fire way of ensuring to them that you're receiving autographs for charity is to write to them on official stationary.

try scanning this website for people that only sign for charity. in the search box at the top of the fanmail screen type in "only signs for charity" or some variation of that and see what comes up.
this would be a good way to find them.

the one that sticks out in my mind it Gene Simmons. I dont know why....but i think that he only signs for charities....and there are tons of people that would kill over that autograph.

Good luck!!!

P.S. try writing to people like Elton John...or Ringo Star...or celebrities that are know to only send PP's or AP's...you might see a cool success from them....if you use the charity's stationary idea.

Goodluck again!!!
