if you want to send a charity letter to a sports organization who do send it to just the team or like public relations or something?

Yes, you can send to any of those
Personally I send to the individual sportsperson. You can locate many of those via http://www.sfxsports.com, or http://www.sfxsports.co.uk.Over the past few months I have had more success via this route rather than writing to whole teams.
