Sorry all again, I know some of my questions may look like I am a newbie, even though I'm a collector since 4 years... But I must ask You this:
1. I've seen this example letter for charity. My goal is to help the school, which was flooded last month. What would You suggest me to write?
2. Can You suggest me which celebrities should I try writing to?

I hope to raise some money for that school, it was my first school ever, and I have only awesome memories, I can't let anything bad happen to this school, it's part of my life...

Any advice is appreciated...

In the letter, tell how you feel about the school, about how much it means to you, and that you therefore decided to make an auction to get money for the school. I think the best way is to write the letter yourself, make it personal!

I think you can send whoever you want, almost. You need to try, you can never know for sure that you'll get an answer.

Good luck! And I'm sorry to hear about the flooding of your school.

Thanks. Can You tell me maybe from Your own experience which celebrities do acknowledge charity asks?
Because I don't really know which would be generous and really help, and I don't want to lose money by sendind envelopes, stamps and other...
No, I'm not greedy, I just don't have too much money, and I need to know, that where I send it is probably a success...

I'm so "desperate" that I even gave some of my own hard-worked autographs for the auction... But it is still too small amount of money ;(

Oh well, I don't have any experience in this, I've never held a charity auction. But I'm sure, if you send to a valid address, that most of the celebrities will sign for this purpose. Just tell them how you feel and about your auction, I'm sure it'll be successful.

I hope so.
If anyone has any more advice, or tested celebrities that do sign for charity, please write it here, thanks in advance.

Hi WeeMan {up}

You can check out my list of celebs who have donated autographs and memorabilia for my auction: http://www.fanmail.biz/mboard/viewtopic.php?t=7018 I am afraid it is a bit out of date as I haven't updated it since last September

When I write I ALWAYS supply reply paid envelopes or IRCs as I feel it only right if I am asking for help from them. More often than not, celebs will send you letters etc which prove the autographs authenticity when you come to sell it for your auction.

Firstly, I would suggest you speak to your Head Teacher or Principle to get their support for the auction. They may also be able to provide you with a letter to prove you are a legitimate charity collector.

You will get a much better response from celebrities if you can provide written evidence rather than just claiming to be collecting for a good cause

When you write, it is important that you mention you are collecting autographed photographs and memorabilia. That way you should find you receive things other than standard photographs, such as signed dvd's, books, scripts, clothing and cd's etc.

I hope this is useful to you, and the best of luck in your collecting!

Thank You for help!! I will write a different letter to every celebrity, it will be very personal, I hope it will work...

If someone has more advice, I'm always open to hear it, and if anyone can donate autos or other souvenirs from their personal collection - that would be more than excellent.
