Contacting Companies RE: Charity Auctions

Im currently collecting items to sell in an online auction for the benefit of the following charities,

RSPCA
Child Line
The Samaritans
RYL
Thornberry Animal Sanctuary

I have contacted numerous sports stars, musicians, tv personalities, film stars and authors, requesting autographed memorabilia to sell via the auction.

However, I was wondering whether anyone had also contacted companies to request items for auctions. For example contacting theme parks for family tickets, Food stores for hampers, Shops for gift-vouchers to use in raffles, etc?

Hi scarycucumber {up}

I have collected that kind of stuff for other auctions, and it can be successful. Just approach it in the same way and write to the company asking for what it is you actually want.

Often companies will not have a problem with giving you tickets etc, but might get spooked if they think you are after cash!!!!

Just be up front and ask for the tickets (politely obviously!), and you will probably be luck more often than not :wink:

Good luck!

Hey,

I was able to organise a pair of 'Deal or No Deal' tickets for the charity auction I help out with, and not just that but the winning bidders got to open the prize draw boxes at the end!

You can organise an awful lot if you are to the point and come over as responsible and polite. :D

Good luck!
