Kenny Rogers Childrens' Center Charity Event

Unread post by cmcwaters »

Hi! I'm Christie. I'm a member of Circle of Friends. We are a group of current and past Avon representatives in the Southeast Missouri area who do fundraisers for the Kenny Rogers Childrens' Center. It is a center in Sikeston, MO that offers various types of therapy to children in and around our area. Parents are not charged a dime for the center's services, so every year the center has a telethon. We raise money throughout the year for this, but our main fundraiser is a concert and silent auction. We have an Elvis tribute artist who donates his time and talent, it is a lot of fun. We are hosting our third show Feb. 2008 and I'm looking for new and interesting items to add to our silent auction. I thought autographed items would draw a lot of interest. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. I'm going to try to get the top 12 Idols from this season to auction off as a lot. I think that would be fun. Thanks!

Hi Christie {up}

And welcome to Fanmail.biz :D Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner, but I have been away for a bit.

Autograph collecting for charity is certainly a great way of raising money. I have been involved in that aspect of fundraising now for several years, and have found that most celebs/stars are only too willing to donate autographed photos and memorabilia to charity auctions of this type.

Please feel free to have a look around the charity forum and check out some of the 'stickies' at the top of the main page. You might pick up some great tips from those.

Of course, if you need any further help, or just have a question, then please do not hesitate to ask :D

Thanks again,
Ian :mrgreen:

Hi Christie! Sorry for not replying earlier- missed your post! :wink:

I've recently been collecting to raise funds for my World Challenge expedition, which allows me to spend 4 weeks helping out the poorer communities in Thailand and Cambodia. If you look in the feedback section, or on the Charity Board, you'll see some of my sucesses which I recommend you write to :)

Hope that helps,

James {up}
