Dear

I am writing in the hope that you will be able to help me in my attempt to raise funds for the Rocking horse appeal.

My names Elise Burchett and IÃ¢â‚¬â„¢m 13. In 2004 I had an operation in The Royal Alexandra childrenÃ¢â‚¬â„¢s hospital in Brighton. Before I had my operation I was ill every month and I canÃ¢â‚¬â„¢t begin to tell how much having the operation has helped me. As they helped me out I thought it was fair to give something back to them as I never really have.

This is what has lead me to you!

It is my hope that willing celebrities will be generous enough to donate signed memorabilia or photographs for selling at auction.

I do understand how busy you are, but I would be so grateful if you could just take a minute to sign something. What might seem like a small thing for you could make a difference for the thousands of children they treat each year.

Personally i think if you make a personal reference to them and their work you will get better replies. They don't want to feel like any celeb on a long list you have sent to. If you make them feel individual and like they are really making a difference then i thin it would go better. I always put a paragraph in saying why i think they are a great celeb etc.

Obviously everyone does it differently but i would definatly recomend this.

Your letter is fine {thumb2}

When collecting for charity it not necessary to say why you like the celeb etc, as they are totally aware you will be writing to lots of celebs.

The only little bit you need to correct is where you wrote:

My names Elise Burchett

Really it should read: My name is Elise Burchett, or My name's Elise Burchett
