Contacting a star for your Foundation

How do you contact a star for your non profit organization? What exactly do you say to them?

I start by saying a little about myself - What my name is, how old I am etc. Not too much though, just a few sentences. I then say something about the work that they have done if I am a fan of theirs, mentioning my favourite movie/film, book, song, album etc.

I then tell them about the charity that I am collecting for (SSPCA). I tell them what the charity does, how money raised will help, the work that the charity has done etc. Try not to make it too long, or it'll just sound like rambling, and try not to include a "sob story" as they can seem made up, even if they aren't.

I end by thanking them for their time and then sign it

Keep it short and sweet, no more than 1 A4 page.
