Sports team from my own state - no support

Unread post by horserescue »

Well with all the sports clubs I've sent to (96 in all) I haved received approximately 18 denials, all saying "not in their geographical region". So I thought - well my own state will - yea right. They sent a generated postcard with a checkmark in the box "not in our scope of donating". Thank you Falcons! Really appreciate the support, or lack of support. Yes, I am a weeeee bit disappointed so you know what I am going to do?! I'm composing a letter to the owner to let him know how disappointed I am. There scope of giving is to charities for children, well we may not be in the "scope" but we do have children come out for birthdays, scouts come out to earn badges - guess that still doesn't count.

Oh well, lesson learned. To all other charities - don't bother writing to sports clubs, not going to get anything. Stick with writing individuals players they might send something. Can't say for sure because I am yet to get anything - but chances may be a bit better.

Sorry to vent and sorry if this shouldn't go here - still a failure. :cry:

Yeah, send to Arthur blank himself. He reads his mail and responds to autograph requests, so that may help!

Good luck.

That's not cool, man. I asked for a Fan Pack a while ago and still nothing. Better performing teams treat their fans nicer than this! {down}

There's nothing like seeing your own handwriting on a letter addressed to yourself in your mailbox :D

Thanks - but another Atlanta refusal today. But I did get a pic from Cincinnati Bengals - so nice of them. It was a nice surprise since I am sitting here waiting for the denials - can't wait to see how many of those I get ... lol

Calm down? geez, don't you ever need to vent Dallasc85? Are you calm all the time? If so, how ever do you do it? I really would like to know. Part of life my dear friend - ups and downs and all that jazz.

And you know what? I might not get so frustrated, down or whatever if our auction didn't mean the world to us! IF we don't get the funds to move before the landlord gives us our 60 day notice - and IF we are still able to get the funds in that 60 day time frame - I WILL HAVE to find another rescue to take our horses and I will have to close my doors. You have no idea how scared I am at times that I will have to do that. The horses I have would have been sent to auction or slaughter if I hadn't been able to take them - they all have special needs or very old. I won't go into everything but just know that I will fight tooth and nail to save our rescue and if means getting upset, angry, disappointed - I think I have that right.

I don't mean for this to be nasty and I apologize if anyone takes it that way. Our rescue is just very deep in my heart and I can get very defensive.

Have a great night.
Sherry
