Hugh Jackman's now confirmed A Steady Rain, according to Entertainment Tonight.

I don't want to jinx it, because my other VV response might be on its way, but I'll probably write my letter for this next week.

Why are you going to write a letter for this play 3 months or more in advance? lol Seems a little odd to me.

Not to mention they haven't even picked a theatre yet?

Also: It doesn't matter if he confirmed it or not ... until there is an official announcement from the producers which set the dates & theatre; the producer from what I heard is someone from James Bond-related something, and will be scouting theatres out this month...! Luckily, I've been having trouble trying to figure out if anything is even coming this fall? And shows are undoubtably going to close by summertag's end. (Piper Perabo's "reasons to be pretty" is going to close this Sunday, June 14, 2009, for the record.

Sounds like Jackman should be fine doing this (if it happens), but hopefully Daniel Craig doesn't have any overlapping Bond contracts (and getting a pass from US's Actors Equity Union); in 2004, Anne Hathaway was intended to star/be featured in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "The Woman in White," but due to Princess Diaries contract, she was unable to do it. (She has a beautiful voice btw!)

That's because I am odd. ;) I was just going to throw a few ideas around for it. I have one VV letter for something else and the date for that isn't for another month.

Fair enough. Sorry about that.

Ouch! I'm sorry I feel like I was being rude...which was not the intetion of that post!

Just people (& the actors) are getting very excited about it, but it may not even happen. Plenty of plans fall through....it took my beloved "A Tale of Two Cities...the musical" over 3 years of straight-out saying "were going to Broadway in the Spring" (starting with 2006) when they didnt even have their first out-of-town (but with stars like this one is proposing it won't need one!/Plays generally don't anyway) tryout until November 07 and only came to Broadway last August (and closed in 2 months :(! But also not going to be a problem for this one).

Sounds great now .. but since there are no certain dates, theatres, even actors yet announced, it's just potentially going to happen. But the fact that they're looking for theatres is extremely good!

Best of luck with your letter :) !

Firstly, it's BLITHE SPIRIT and the show, as announced will close with Lansbury on July 19, 2009. Good luck!
