sending VV to a group during a festival...

what are my chances of getting a success from this?
im looking to send a letter to about 9 people in a group during a festival.
the venue passes along fan mail...
but i know someitmes groups are tougher to get & at that during a festival might decrease my chances.
im wondering if i should save my stamps or give it a try... i dont wanna try though if my chances are really slim.
any experiences or tips?
