does anyone know will it be an open set can u send fanmail to the film set because with some movies they have closed sets like the twilight movies

No idea. I don't think it has started filming yet.

I read somewhere that filming is to take place in Mexico [or was it New Mexico..?] sometime in April.

We could be talking about different movies here, but if the avengers is the one I am thinking of, that is incorrect. As far as I know, filming starts next month in the usa.

they are filming in new mexico in april but id say they are also filming in the usa first

Ah right. That sounds about right. New mexico is a usa state haha :-) I heard filming was predominately in new york?

i found on a casting site saying they will be filming in april in albuquerque new mexico thats why i enquired about it
