I wanted to send to a movie, but the status is "Unknown" but when i click on one of the stars it comes up that the film is "in production" ... is it okay to send to it? It usually lists the status as "filming" not "in production" so i'm confused.

You could try, but I would interpret that as the film being edited and specal effects being added. Of course, that doesn't mean that whoever is producing the won't be able to forward your request to the right person. So, I'd say it's possible, but it's your decision as to whether you want to try.

i saw that it said it hasn't been updated since May, and the cast doesn't have any character names, besides 1 person, listed so it looks like it's not filming yet, just no one has put a status so it comes up with that.

Hmm... That's tough. Maybe by "production" they mean that it's still being written. Who knows. You could probably still send something; I just wouldn't recommend anything of value.
