im sending to a artist who is performing at the NIA Birmingham would i have to email the NIA & tell them im sending it for them to pass it on or not? thanks

I always do now. There have been 2 VV requests I sent (to venues that supposedly passed on fanmail) with out emailing first, and I never got anything from either of those requests. But for every single venue that I emailed first to confirm they WOULD pass on my letter, I have gotten a return from the band/artist.

Same here!! I have been emailing all the venues I sent to this year and ones that have confirmed they'll pass along fanmail, I've gotten replies from! definitely a good idea and saves you from getting RTS's.

I rarely do but i like to take my chances lol Im not worried about a bit of postage.Either they pass it on or they don't.

How long does it usually take to get the autograph back? its been 9 days since it would have been passed on,is it still likely il get an autograph back? thanks

There's no way to tell really. I've gotten a response 2 days after the concert, and I've gotten responses a couple weeks after. Usually though it only takes about a week give or a take a few days. I'm currently waiting on 3 bands: Evanesence, Five Finger Death Punch and Simple plan. Its been over 2 weeks for FFDP and Evanesnce, and about a week for simple plan. It's right around this 2 week mark that I get nervous that it's not coming back
