Question about VV addresses

Ok I have been on the site for a while but had to take a break from collecting. I use to come here and exchange addresses, and give them to people that needed or wanted them and post my successes. With regards to VV addresses it seems that either the people that are on the site are no longer the ones that I use to talk to or the policies have changed. When I was on before people didn't really have a problem sharing address for sets and sometimes they would even be posted automatically. I'm wondering what changed, I do understand that in some ways it can hurt someone's chances, but I have had success both ways. But what I'm wondering is that if you post an address is that aganist the rules or is it ok? Some people just find the address while searching for things and post them to help people out. When I was on here before it seemed to work out good for most people and very few people got testy about it. Just wondering what the policies are on this now?

I'm sure most people have a problem giving out VV addresses or posting them openly because the address would get spammed. And then no one would have any success.

In theory that makes sense, but like I said even on this site addresses use to be posted for everyone to see, and I got some great successes from the addresses. I'm sure for movies that attract basically the actors that are the flavor of week it would be that way, but for most others it doesn't seem to work that way. It just seems that people have gotten really nasty even reading through some successes in general some of the people that are on here now are just really mean and rude. And the information that use to be able to get gotten from the site or shared on the site just isn't here anymore.
