Tony Stark's Best One-Liners: The Iron Man Supercut

Watch Iron Man 3 Online Who knew that superheroes could be really, really funny in movies? Sure, it seems totally plausible now, in this post-Avengers world, but when Iron Man emerged in 2008-- the same summer that Batman went darker than ever in The Dark Knight-- Tony Stark and his endless arsenal of quips seemed like a revelation. By casting the quick-witted Robert Downey Jr. and giving him a lot of good lines, Marvel created the energetic superhero that we didn't really even know we needed. As you may have heard in many rave reviews, Tony Stark's quips are better than quicker than ever in Iron Man 3, thanks to the influence of new writer/director Shane Black. So we're celebrating some of Tony Stark's best moments from all three Iron Man movies as well as The Avengers.

Watch Pain And Gain Online After you've watched the above video, join us in the comments to talk about any of your favorites that we might have left out-- and after you've seen Iron Man 3 this weekend, tell us your favorite jokes from the new one too. Remember all the way back in December 2009 when we first learned that there was going to be an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith's Pride & Prejudice & Zombies? If you forgot, I can't honestly blame you. It's now more than three years later and the project has never managed to make any real forward progress, running through directors like David O. Russell, Mike White, and Craig Gillespie, and potential stars like Natalie Portman, Emma Stone, and Blake Lively. Despite the fact that the production has never been able to make two pieces stick, it continues to rise from the dead.

Watch Oblivion Online The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Lily Collins is now set to star as the female lead in Pride & Prejudice & Zombies. What's more, Burr Steers, the filmmaker whose previous credits include Charlie St. Cloud, 17 Again, and Igby Goes Down, is now attached to direct. For those unfamiliar with Grahame-Smith's novel, the story is a twist on Jane Austen's classic story, pitting all of the great literary characters against a zombie apocalypse. While the film was originally set up at Lionsgate, it will now be financed by Panorama, which plans on selling the project at Cannes.

Watch Evil Dead Online Collins, who is known for roles in movies like Abduction, Mirror Mirror and Priest, has a potential big break coming out this summer with the adaptation of the young adult novel sensation The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones. Still, a part of me sees her taking this part after seeing what Jane Levy did with the female lead in Evil Dead, a project Collins dropped. In Shane Black’s Iron Man 3, The Mandarin is a dangerous enigma. He shows his power through destruction and his leadership through numbers. He speaks in a stern, clear voice and stares at you from a distance on the other side of a monitor. He is completely immersed in his own philosophy. For his performance, Sir Ben Kingsley dove head first into the character and crafted what is certainly one of the most memorable villains the genre has ever seen.

Watch Spring Breakers Online Last week I had the pleasure of sitting down with the Oscar winner one-on-one to talk about his villainous turn in the brand new Iron Man film. Check out our conversation below, in which Kingsley discusses not only his inspirations for his performance as The Mandarin, but the effect of having a character who lives in a bubble, and the value of holding on to a secret. You’re not new to doing genre films, and this is even a big year for you having both Iron Man 3 and Ender’s Game. When you are looking at scripts, you’re looking at projects to do, is there a method to your script selection? How does that work for you?

WATCH A Good Day To Die Hard ONLINE Well, yeah. It’s a method, I think, that was laid down by, the great William Shakespeare, because I was very fortunate to like, Kenneth Branagh, spend a big, many years as a classical actor, working on Shakespeare and I find that his writing, which is probably why it’s survived, more than survived, it’s actually grown in stature over the years, is so beloved of audiences everywhere I go. I was in Moscow recently. Everywhere you go there is a major Shakespearean production going on and to make a long story short working on those plays, you see a writer who has an amazing grasp of genuine patterns of human behavior, totally genuine. They’re not a carbon copy of a carbon copy of something else, you know. They’re original and pure. So, when I’m reading a script, if I can’t see that pattern of human behavior. If I can’t see a genuine human map, I’m afraid I can’t breathe life into it. It just won’t work.

WATCH Warm Bodies ONLINE So, what was, kind of, your path getting to this project? Was it something they approached you about? Shane Black wrote to me, sent me a lovely letter, telling me that he saw Sexy Beast a while ago and that he was in, I think it must have been the Toronto Film Festival, he was in the audience for the Q&A. He said he’ll never forget it, it was great... He was very generous and after the letter he invited me to join Iron Man 3. I then met Kevin Feige, he talked me through the amazing arch of the character. I then got the script. You know, it was quite simple. It wasn’t a very complicated entry into it and then once I arrived there, their welcoming was very generous and very kind and exciting and businesslike. I just really loved working with that team, because Robert [Downey Jr.] too is totally committed and Gwyneth [Paltrow] and Don [Cheadle] to the same pattern of human behavior, which you do see in these movies.

WATCH Oz The Great And Powerful ONLINE Where did you take inspiration from for your performance? I think that, from the script, they were strong...Tony Stark referring to me as a preacher, my own character referring to lessons, and my own character also saying that he prefers to call himself a teacher. All those clues allowed me to explore a voice that was presidential, measured, unhysterical, and completely rooted in its own sense of rightness and righteousness. When you are faced with somebody with a completely bizarre set of values and they are addressing you with them with such earnestness and belief in them, it’s very disconcerting. You can’t find a crack to get in and say, “You’re talking bullshit,” because they just won’t let you in and particularly with his device, where he’s not in the room with you. He’s there on the screen and he will barge into a whole TV network and suddenly there’s those weird stripes and the grainy documentary footage and then he’s there. So, you can’t, in a sense, you can’t interrupt and answer back, but at the same time, there’s something in his convictions.

Watch 42 Online Which I had to bring to the screen, which is uninterruptable. I was looking for that. The upcoming Natalie Portman western Jane Got A Gun hit hard times when director Lynne Ramsay dropped off of the project on what should have been the first day of production. Following her was Jude Law, who had signed on to the movie simply for the chance to work with Ramsay, and the production had to scramble to find replacements. When the dust cleared it seemed like everything was going to be okay, however. Warrior filmmaker Gavin O'Connor took over as director, and Bradley Cooper took Law's place on the cast list. But this roller coaster ride isn't over yet. Deadline says that Cooper has been forced to abandon his role in Jane Got A Gun - for reasons completely separate from the production. The site says that the terrorist bombings in Boston delayed the production schedule of David O. Russell's American Hustle, which Cooper has been filming the last few weeks. Because of the Oscar nominated star's commitment to that film, he won't be available for the western.

Cooper was supposed to play the movie's main villain - the leader of a gang who comes to kill Natalie Portman's character's estranged husband(Noah Emmerich). In order to protect herself, she enlists the help of a former lover (Joel Edgerton). The production is now back to looking at its shortlist of actors that can take over the part, a list that includes Jake Gyllenhaal, Tobey Maguire, Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Tom Hiddleston. At this stage of the game, what can you really say? Perhaps somebody is filming a documentary behind the scenes and they can make their very own Lost in La Mancha. It seems Shia LaBeouf won't be the only young actor soldiering up with Brad Pitt for David Ayer's World War II tank drama Fury, as Deadline is now reporting that Logan Lerman, best known for playing the titular character in the Percy Jackson movies, has also signed on for a role in the new film. According to the site he will play, "Norman Ellison, an Army typist and the youngest and most inexperienced member of the crew who is thrust into being a tank gunner."
