Nu Image/Millennium Films Overnight Productions has set a June 9 production start on the comedy Labor Pains, reports Variety.
The romantic comedy stars Lindsay Lohan as an assistant, working in a stuffy publishing house, who pretends to be pregnant in a desperate attempt to keep her nasty boss from firing her.
Lara Shapiro is directing; Chris Parnell, Cheryl Hines, Luke Kirby and Connie Britton also star.
The film will shoot in Burbank. Because Nu Image/Millennium is an independent studio, the Screen Actors Guild granted the film a waiver to shoot even if there is an actor's strike after June 30.
Lohan, who recently guested on ABC's "Ugly Betty," said she loved the script. "It is a very different role for me and I look forward to the challenges it will present, and I love working on comedies."
