DAVID SUCHET WONDERFUL SUCCESS, spacey and dreyfuss failures

After tonight show of 'Complicit' at the Old Vic I went to the stage door. To my half suprise Kevin Spacey just walked ot and walked across the road with someone I now know is the writer of the play. (kevin is directing the play) A woman approached Kevin and he signed then me and one other person approached him and he said 'not now, sorry'. A few minutes late he headed back in and was not approachable but we thought maybe on the way out he would be. He came out again, this time leaving again with the writer, turned right out of the stage door, not even acknoweldging the fans on his left. I dont feel to bad as I got him IP before but with actors I admire like him, you can always get him again. It may be that as he isnt acting, he doesnt open the hatch he does to sign. I did hear a rumour that because of dealers pestering him every day he is in the Uk he has stopped signed most of the time.

Anyway then David Suchet came out, and boy what a lovely gentleman he is. He had a taxi waiting but asked a security person to put his bag in the cab and was very happy to sign and pose for photos. He is very humble and modest. I said I loved all his work, inparticular as Hercule Poirot, he thanked me so much, and shook my hand. You genuinly couldnt ask to meet a kinder and more caring perosn, what a guy!

And as for Richard Dreyfuss, he went out the front. I am a few people waited and then the security guys left, one person asked them and said he had left. I am not a fan but it would have been nice.

I am a little dissapointed about Kevin as he was just there but i respected his wishes but I dont care about Richard, I am too excited about having had met David.

I may try to get David again tommorow and with any luck Kevin may be there too for a 2nd attempt.

Well done mymymy - I am hoping to get to the Old Vic tonight. I know someone else who met Kevin & Richard on Thursday evening but went down to the bar to meet them where they happily signed.

What time did Suchet come out?

Hey, the play finishes at 9.30pm. David came out at about 10.15 becasue he had a couple of visitors. Every day is different and he may come out earlier today. Best to be there from 9.30 if not a bit before.
