Chiller Theatre - George Romero, Linda Blair, Warwick Davis.

Unread post by Sandstone »

First off, Chiller Theatre has been the worst convention i have been to yet. Great guests dosent mean a thing if the whole place is disorganized as hell. All the guests were outside in a freezing tent. The line to the dealers rooms were about 400-500 people long. No one knew what was going on. Very disorganized. One thing they did right was limit the amount of people who were allowed in the tent at a time, making the big lines like George romero not too long. Then again the line into the tent was about 200 long. Average wait of about 3 hours. We got there real early and only waited about 10 minutes. We were dressed as convits and a guard and it seemed to go over really well. We had our pictures taken more than some of the celebrities.

Second. I never have had a problem taking pictures with celebrities but at chiller i wasnt allowed to take pictures with almost anyone. All the handelers wanted money. One even put his hand over my wifes camera when she tried to take a picture. Bunch of dicks. i know it wasnt the celebrities fault cuz Linda Blair really like my wife and i cuz we were animal lovers. Ill detail more people later. One guy i met that i didnt get anyhting from was Chuck Zito. (Oz). That guy is cool as hell and tough as nails. He used to run a chapter of the hells angels and he was no joke.

Us as convicts...i am on the right. All the stuff was real, we orderd it from scott county prision. The big guy in the back is a big fan of that stuff and owned all the chains and cuffs already.

My fist gues was Daveigh Chase. She was Lilo in Lilo and Stich and was also Samara Morgan in the Ring, hence the Signed video tape. She was very quiet but at least we were allowed to take pics.

Next was one of my favorites, Warwick Davis. I spent a lond time making that pot of gold and i asked him if he would sign it something he had never put on anyone elses thing before. Call me jaded but im tired of getting, see you in hell and your next on every other thing i get signed. He took a very long time and really thought about it and came up with what you see.

Next was LInda Blair, my #1 eason for going, we talked with he for a while about dogs. She is such a cool person, i told her how i lost out on 400 bucks when she cancelled the Canadian Expo, it wasnt he fault it was due to hurricane katrina. She liked us so much she signed the plastic cross i brought but told me that she never signs anyhting religous but did it for me cus she liked us so much, but she wont do it again. Cool i have a rare signed item. Her handler refused to let us take pictures without paying. She was very appologetic.

There is an idea of a Patrick Bateman; some kind of abstraction. But there is no real me: only an entity, something illusory. I simply am not there.

Next was Adam west, He was so funny and such a great person, but he charged 40 bucks!!!! Im not so upset because he was such a great person, and so hilarious. He loved our picture from the family guy.

The Batmobile and Green Lantern Car were also in attendance but West didnt know if it was the origional car, he said he hadnt been outside to see it yet.

These are the items that George Romero signed for us. He was also friendly but he got a little scared about my costume. He backed up a bit and asked alot of questions but never stopped being friendly.

Gates Mc Fadden for my mom.

Fred Williamson signed my From Dusk Till Dawn cover that Savini and Trejo had signed alreday.

So there you have it. The show sucked but most of the celebs were really cool. I didnt spend much and thats a plus.

Thanks for all the compliments, i try to get unique items signed, not the same stuff everyone else gets.

that is such a great collection. I just got carla laemmle from the 1931 dracula. She was the first woman in the movie to have a speaking part. Whats next for your collection?
