Harrison Ford in person success ESB 30th ann. screening

Hey there just got back from The Empire Strikes back 30th anniversry screening . where i managed to get my Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the crystal skull bluray Digi book(target exclusive) signed by him.

I had toyed with going or not going tonight because i knew it would be a mad house there since it essentially turned into a red carpet event, with quite a few other stars in attendance besides the previously announced Harrison ford. I didnt get there for the start instead i waited till about 10 mins before the Q&A was scheduled to conclude(i only live about 3 mins away from the location and walked right over, when i got there i heard the theatre security had actually kicked most of the autograph people out, but of course that didnt mean they were gone, i kept my eyes open at what was going on there were about 8 people there waiting(including this one guy that everyone knows is a problem collector) and town car, i walked over about a min latter peter mayhew came down and went to get in his car, I didnt have anything for him so i didnt bother to ask, he told everyone no anyways. the one guy who always causes problems then kept harping on him to sign his chewbacca toy(the guy just doesnt understand the word no) when mayhews car left, he starts chasing after him, about 5 of the 8 people that were there dispersed at that point to, i decided to wait. about 20 seconds latter after laughing at the runner chasing after the car, the girl called down on her radio something about the problem guy being gone. at that point another town car pulls up about 5 seconds latter harrison ford and jon Faverau walk out we ask him to sign he starts signing, by the time i got my indy bluray signed about 50 people or more had piled up on the group pushing and shoving being obnoxious,, some started pushing and getting on the trunk of the car, at that point he stops signing gets in and drives off and of course 60 percent of them chase after his car.

I got my one autograph i wanted so i was happy. Harrison was in a great mood and very friendly to the fans until some people had to be obnoxious.
best part i only had to wait less than 25 min

Wow, Sounds like you had a fantastic time! Sorry to hear about the jerks who were causing a scene there before and after Harrison came out. they were probably scalpers just in it for the money. Those are the people who ruin the IP hobby for us true collectors. Jumping on the trunk of the car? unbelievable.

Thats very cool. I can't stand obnoxious autograph seekers. I attended the MacGruber premiere last night. And was complimented by some of the security inside for being respectful. If a celeb I asked to take a photo said no (ie-Ed Norton, Ryan Phillipe). I said no problem and walked away. At least Ryan did sign my poster.

Just don't understand rude autograph seekers. And it sounds like from your story that bad one is well known if security knew about him.

I had a situation in Adelaide here where i waited for hours to get
Lady Gaga's autograph. After outsmarting security and her drivers
i managed to be in the right spot at the right time. I accepted the drivers
request to stand back from the car and wait. You know what 10 seconds later they all jump
in the car and drive off with Lady Gaga curled up in the back corner
of the car like a scared little mouse. I was the only one there trying
to get a sig but they drove off. You know what as an autograph hunter you get
that, thats what makes the auto's you get seem that much more special.
Some people think its there right to get a autograph.

This reminds me of a story a collector once told me. Years ago he went to a film shoot with Marlon Brando. All of these people were waiting outside his trailer for his auto. He or an assistant came out and said he would sign if everyone would back up across the street. Everyone balked thinking he would sneak out. Except this one collector who did what they asked. A bit later he came out and cursed those who didn't listen. Brando then walked across the street and signed everything the collector who listened had.

Collectors ruin it for everyone. I mean there are some like us of fanbiz that do not have any intentions to sell and then you have the Autograph Hounds/Collectors who ruin it for everyone. Luckily I live in a city where there aren't any autograph hounds just people who collect autos but if you go to NYC or LA they are like parasites. They push curse you out anything to get their autograph and ruin it for others. It's ashame really.......

We call them cockaroaches out here in Hollywood. Because they come out at night to "feed" then they go back into there hole during the day to sleep.
