Expendables Las Vegas Premiere
Am a little late in posting this.
Went to the Las Vegas premiere of the Expendables last Wednesday August 11th.
I also attended the Hollywood premiere on August 3rd. Wanted Sylvester Stallone badley on a Rocky 12X19. Everybody crossed to sign but Stallone must have had the driest sharpie on the face of the earth and he was only signing his first initial. Sorry, but for my collection I want a little better signature than that and with a better pen. So I passed. Got everybody else, including the rare Bruce Willis, who doesn't like to sign autographs. Jet Li and Jason Statham were no shows.
Strike one on Stallone in Hollywood.
Then I went to the premiere in Vegas. Since it's a 3 and a half hour drive I haven't done a premiere there since League of Extraordinary Gentleman. That's how bad I wanted Sly. Anyway premieres in Vegas are a lot easier to deal with that the movie premieres in Hollywood. After all who goes to Vegas for a movie premiere? People go to gamble.
Anyway ran late, so I didn't get there till around 5pm for a 6:30 red carpet. In Hollywood arriving at 5pm will put you probably three deep in the barricade at a premiere. Even though I got to Vegas late I still found space in the front row. That tells you right there that though Vegas is a drive, premieres are much more accessable than the ones in Hollywood.
Anyway the red carpet started late because the governor himself was late in arriving, as was Jason Statham, who was flying in from doing a talk show apperance.
The premiere started at 7pm. Everybody with the exception of Bruce Willis and Jet Li showed up. Everybody signed and did photo opps with the exception of Swatzenegger and Stallone, who both arrived together and did the red carpet at the very last minute. All they did were high fives. Might I metion at how EXTREMELY nice Charisma Carpenter was. She was so accomindating to the fans. Taking her sweet time signing multiple autographs, posing for pictures and even conversing with you. I was very impressed with her. I remember a few years back her attitude was totaly different. She would only sign one per person and she would be very pickey on what kind of photo she would sign. She's totally changed for the better.
Anyway, the best thing about the Vegas premiere was getting Jason Statham. If you don't already know Mr.Statham is a very rare signature to get here in Hollywood. He hates signing autographs to a tee! So to get him to sign in Vegas was a major score. Oh, and I also got Holly Madison, former Hugh Hefner girlfriend and one of The Girl's Next Door. That was it.
Strike two on Stallone.
The next day Stallone was scheduled to appear at a local talk show in my area. I figured why not? I put so much time into this guy I have nothing else to lose.
To make a long story short, he gets there at the last minute and pulls his SUV right along side the back door and rushes in.
No wave or any kind of aknowledgment. And he does the same thing leaving.
So Strike three on Stallone. I'm out!
Though I'm dissapointed I didn't get him, there will be a day I will.

Re: Expendables Las Vegas Premiere
Sorry to hear about that man. I'm pretty sure that Stallone got burned out from signing so much in NYC. He signed a ton all 4 days he was here. I know most people ended up getting at least 6 or 7 by the time he left NYC. You could tell he had enough though by the time he checked out of his hotel.
Re: Expendables Las Vegas Premiere
Where was the premiere at? I live here and it never occurred to me that they premiere movies here.
Edit: nevermind. I see it's PH.

Ahhhhh New York. Though I get my share of autographs living in the Hollywood/LA area sometimes I wish I could go to New York and expirence the graphing over there.
Re: Expendables Las Vegas Premiere
Sorry to hear that Bud. Conrats on the others though;) I hate when that happens you try and try to get that one person you have been wanting forever and it turns out to be a dissapointment. I think we have all been there. That makes autographing a pain sometimes. It's also weird how celebs change. One minute they are particular with autographs next year or so they are kind and will sign anything under the sun. Strange how things work....

Re: Expendables Las Vegas Premiere
Congrats bud. I have heard Sly is a bit of a difficult person sometimes... although I expected Jason Statham to be better signer to be honest.
Sorry if I mis-read your post, but did you get/meet Terry Crewes?

Yes I did.
Like I said everyone from the cast showed up with the exception of Jet Li and Jason Statham at the Hollywood premiere.
And Jet Li and Bruce Willis at the Las Vegas premiere.
