Very sorry you had the unfortunate experience of dealing with these scumbags. I can relate to your feelings, frustrations, and anger regarding their selfish disregard for anyone else but their greedy selves. I hope too one day you are able to get Jack, hopefully in a quieter situation. You used to be able to get him when he left the Laker games at Staples Center however he no longer goes in or leaves where there is access to him. You asked how these people know about events like this around LA. Heres a few resources you may be interested in that will inform you of events going on around town and what celebrities are expected to attend them. One is the Hollywood News Calendar. Its expensive but it gives you a daily list of celebrity events, premieres etc. Check out http://www.newscalendar.com/ to sign up for it. A free resource is http://www.seeing-stars.com/Calendar/index.shtml This lists several premieres and other miscellaneous events around town. Hope that helps a little and hope you have more successes in the future.

P.S. the tall black guy you were referring to is named James aka crackhead. Hes a dealer as well.

Seeing-stars quite often is not acurate in terms of the correct venue or date.
As a example they have listed a premiere at the El Capitan next saturday night, that is infact not there, nor was it ever booked there, but rather at another nearby venue.

Thanks AntiDealer for your post. I hope to get Jack one day too. Have you ever got his autograph in person? And thanks for those links....I actually use the Calendar of Hollywood events/Seeing Stars one all the time. I always wondered if there were others and I'm glad to see that there is the other one that you have to pay for. $100 a months is pretty pricey....dunno if I'll sign up with them...although it'd probably be what I'm looking for.

I'm trying to forget what happened last night but I can't help but kick myself for not being a little more aggressive that night. At least, call out to Jack since I was just like 5 inches away from him asking if he could sign my DVD. But I wasn't used to all that screaming and stuff...I really did not want to be rude!

Anyone know where Jack is appearing next?

The hollywood fax is not worth the $100. I told you that the same dealers and ebayers that we hate so much also subscribe to it. What's the point of getting it if you're just going to run into those same peices of scum at these same events? Now a days with not only do you have to deal with the autograph cockaroaches but you also have to deal with the paparazzi who can be just as bad. These are very hard time for us fans on the autographing. Unfortunatetly, if you want a Jack Nicholson autograph you might have to give in and buy one.

Yes I have got him before. He is very nice if you can get to him, as you can probably tell from what you saw. Even though he didn't sign for you he did put up with the mayhem where many others would have just dropped the pen and got in the car. There's not much you can do in those situations except just hope he grabs your item at some point. Its really every man for themselves. Like another person suggested don't be afraid to just push peoples stuff out of the way or flip their photos up off yours if they're going over you. If they're going to be rude, be rude back. Being polite is only going to make yourself lose out and help the scumbags to be more successful. Good luck!

Yes, I 100% agree with antidealer. If the dealers push you, you push back. This is no time to be "polite" in this hobby.
Besides putting your stuff onto a board for support another tip you can do is to arrive early for certain events. Jack does have a premiere coming up in Hollywood on December 13th. The one thing that the dealers don't do is arrive early for a premiere. They tend to show up at the last minute. Premieres usually start at 6:30. Get there at around 2pm to assure yourself a front spot in the barricade. I know its early but if you want Mr. Nicholson this is the best way to do it.

Cool so we have a premiere in December? At Grauman's Theatre, don't the fans line up across the street at the barricades? I've seen stars walk across the street to sign some autographs---but not always. Has Jack done that before? Unless there's another spot where I can catch Jack that I'm not aware of...(I've never ventured to Grauman's during a premiere for an autograph)....is that spot across the street my only option?
