She was in concert with Montgomery Gentry here in KY like last New Years and so a local radio station was doin a contest for front row tickets to the show, a limo ride there, and backstage passes. I wanted to meet her so bad to get an autograph for my dad so me and a friend slept outside the place where they were doin the concert to be guaranteed the entry into the contest. The contest consisted of guzzling down a red bull, running to the radio stations van, and touchin the van without lettin go. It was in the 40 degree weather, rainin and we were TIRED with no sleep. The hard thing about the competition was that I had just had ankle surgery and the more people that didn't let go of the van, the more twists they did to make the stand more difficult. There was about 20 of us competing. For the first hour we just stood there, the next hour we had to keep our hand on the van plus keep one foot in the air, the 3rd hour we had to keep our hand on the van, keep a foot in the air, and keep the other arm in the air. I won the contest after bein the last one on the van for 6 hrs. I took my friend backstage and was just gonna get an autograph for my dad [because my friend stayed on the van with me in case I lost]. When we got backstage not only was she late but she already pre-autographed everything and said she wouldn't sign anything else. We took a pic with her but she didn't talk to anyone or anything. She didn't even act like she wanted to TOUCH anyone. Me and my friend thought maybe she was just havin a bad day. We went this past June to a festival in Tennessee and saw her after a performance and tried to meet her again. She didn't waive or anything. When this older lady was yellin and askin her to come over her boyfriend or whatever he was just yelled "we're havin a baby HAHAHAHAHA!" knowin she wasn't pregnant. After he said that you could hear Gretchen laughin real loud and sayin "yea!" She was just real rude and not fan oriented at all. If I had it to do all over again, I never would've wasted 6 hrs of my life on her. I did it for my dad, but even he now doesn't like her because of that. Sorry this was such a long review lol.
Surely this experience doesn't make her music any more or any less good! I love her music...but if I went through this...I'd still love her music because it's really good! And I don't mean to cause offense, but I think you have exaggerated your experience with her.

I think the biggest celebrity jerk is Patrick Stewart - I went to meet him by the stage doors after going to see his play and he signed everyone elses pictures and stuff and when he got to me, he saw my picture (a newspaper cutout of him in the play) and said 'Sorry, wrong picture' and pushed me out of the way. I thought he was very rude {down} ...but I still like his films! :D

Yeah, he did give me the autograph. I know he wasn't really a jerk. I just found him a bit cocky. I have never really met a mean celebrity. So this is my best story . But yeah, I have heard about celebrities who make you pay - eugh! That's what Buzz Aldrin does. He makes you pay $250 for an autograph, and $500 if it's already been signed by others. He also charges $20 per word on an inscription. Finally, he won't sign anything other than pictures (no baseballs, bobbleheads, etc.). And now the thing that really bugs me is that you have to make checks out to "Buzz Aldrin." This means that the money goes to him, and not some foundation. Celebrities like that really bug me mad. I just want to {007} them (not really, though).

Hmm...He's a great actor, but he doesn't sound very nice. I've heard about people like that. They only sign some pictures. A lot of people in plays do it. When Daniel Radcliffe was performing in Equus, he wouldn't sign anything from Harry Potter. He doesn't want to be seen as just Harry. I believe Alan Rickman does that, too...

David Schwimmer is also quite weird about signing Friends stuff! He did sign my Friends dvd cover but I think he only did that because he was in a rush! He definitley isn't a jerk though!

i never said the experience turned off my likin in her musical talent..i just said i never wouldve wasted my time to try and MEET her. and unless you were actually there both of the times i guess you wouldnt know whether it was an "exaggerated experience" or not. its different for someone to call into a radio station and win backstage passes but when you stand in the rain and cold in pain for 6 hrs to meet someone then youd somewhat think theyd be a lil pleasant. sorry if thats just me. im not turnin anyone off to her but this thread is for your opinion in biggest celebrity jerks. i wasnt there to witness why you say the celebrity you met was a jerk therefore it wouldnt be fair for me to say that i thought you have "exaggerated your experience". who knows if your celebrity really said that? only you do. and thats all we can go by. and all we can say is "sorry your experience wasnt a pleasant one" not bash the persons experience because you have experienced or heard otherwise. thanks

All the celebrities I've met (Mitchel Musso, John Stamos, George Bush Sr, and Shaun White) were all really nice. But my friend saw Ashley Tisdale shopping one time, (my friend moved to LA about a year ago) and asked for an autograph. Ashley just went, "A little privacy, please," and walked away. That made me mad because in Seventeen Magazine, I remember her specifically saying that she loves it when people come up to her and introduce themselves!
Favorite TTM: Zac Efron, Jason Dohring, Alyson Stoner
Favorite In-person: Mitchel Musso
(When I get this person's in the mail i WiLL FREAKK): Leighton Meester

Wow. She strikes me as such a nice person. It seems like some of Sharpay has rubbed off on her.

I remember Ashley Tisdale saying that many times in various magazines as well...i'm a huge fan of Ashley Tisdale and it's disappointing to know that she turns fans down just like that.
