At most conventions you pay for an autograph. They go there to make money; like contractors.

Val Kilmer is said to donate his autograph money but $30.00 is a bit much.

$20.00 seems to be the standard rate for most. I believe I saw ex-James Bond George Lazenby charge $35.00 which is the most I've seen. Some of them offer little discounts for your item like Danielle Harris did.

Most of the conventions I have been to they charge you like crazy. You have to pay an admission fee plus the money you spend on autographs.

Also, sometimes the prices change depending on the venue you go to. I have heard people say that "so-and-so" charged a different amount at another event.

Sometimes the venue picks the price that the star will charge. Sometimes the person gets paid a flat rate for showing up at the event and other times the only money they make comes from the purchased autographs. Every event is different with how they are handled.
