Hi Guys!
I had the honor of meeting Dr. Buzz Aldrin on July 16, 2009 in Sanford, Florida. For those not up-to-date with your history- Dr. Aldrin, along with Neil Armstrong, were the first two humans to land and walk on the moon on January 20, 1969.
Buzz sells autographed photos on his webpage for $350! That's crazy! I had him sign four copies of his new book for me for free!!!! All I had to pay for were the cost of the books.
Just thought I’d share my in-person success with you guys so you can compare and see what an authentic signature from Dr. Buzz Aldrin looks like.
Thanks-
GABOR

Are you meeting him at the USS Hornet Museum? I met him at a Books-A-Million in Sanford, Florida.
He does not have a limit. I seen some people in line with 10+ books! The only thing is that he will only sign copies of his new book- period! No photos or memorabilia. My advice is to get there really early. Buzz Aldrin is known for not staying long at his book signings, and depending on the amount of people that show up- if you are at the end of a line of 500 people, you might not make it! I got to there two hours early and my line number was already 282! He only stayed for 1 ½ hours, at 10 minutes before he was to leave, they still haven’t called my group of numbers- so I just got inline anyway hoping for the best. I got to meet him at the last minute!
As for the value- Buzz Aldrin is living history! You really can’t put a monetary figure on his autograph. Sure- you can buy his autograph on his webpage for $350, and I’ve seen places selling it for a lot more- but for me it was just an honor to meet him in-person. I’m sure once Dr. Aldrin passes away his autograph value will sky rocket- but I don’t collect for the value.
Hope that helped- have fun meeting Dr. Aldrin!

Great success!
I've always wanted to meet him, he seems like a stand up guy. Just don't tell him the moon landing was fake, he'll punch you in the face.

Oh God! Let's not start that up!

When I told one of my friends that I met Buzz ALdrin- he started up on the whole "the moon landing was fake" thing.
During the space race of the 1960's- we wanted to beat Russia in getting to the moon first- and we did it. One would think that if it the moon landing was faked the Russian government would go, “Hey, wait a minute! You Americans faked it! Why are you trying to trick us and make us look bad?†Nope- they said nothing.
As for the guy that got punched by Buzz Aldrin- he deserved it! He was a jerk in that video!

Just to clarify, Dr. Aldrin DID NOT punch the guy in face for saying the moon landing is fake. Dr. Aldrin punched the guy in the face because the guy wouldn't get out of his way. He stood directly in front of him and wouldn't move until Dr. Aldrin addressed his comments. He could've said anything and he would've gotten punched in the face. It wasn't what he said, it was the way he acted.
(There's a whole chapter about it in Magnificent Desolation...)

Well currently Frasers autographs value Mr Aldrin's signature on his book at £395 or $655 at today's market prices!
