Originally it was only Gareth to be signing, so it was a lovely surprise when they announced a few days before the event that Kai Owen would be joining in. Leeann and Jem arrived at about 11 (the event began at 12:30) but we didnt get there til 1 (we couldnt change our train times that were already booked for Godot). The queue was right down the street and when we got there the lovely people behind us let us join Jem and Leeann in the queue.
When I heard about the signing I began a gift for Gareth; a tin of beans with a custom label, featuring quotes and images from Children of Earth. The idea came about from one of the scene in which Ianto (Gareth) and Jack (John Barrowman) decide to have some "alone time", and attempt to pack Rhys (Kai) off on an errand. Rhys responds saying he cant, as tne beans are ready. Ianto replies with "bloody beans." It was to celebrate a beautiful relationship that we are going to miss (Ianto sadly died at the end of Children of Earth). We decided it would definitely make me "special" to give him this gift! I worked on the design for days and finally printed it up and stuck it on the night before going down.

Eventually we reached the front of the queue and (after Kai and Gareth had a bite to eat) we were led inside to get our prints (£15 each, plus for that we could get one of our own items signed for free). As we were buying our things, Kai and Gareth excused themselves for a moment (with a promise to return!). It was very odd stood there paying for photos while they were sat just a few feet away smiling and waiting for us! Gareth even got up and had a look at his own Ianto figure on the shelves!
Then we said hello and I said I had a present for him. I handed over the tin, and explained what it was.

I told Kai that he gets no beans, which he was not pleased about. Then I explained that I didnt know he was going to be there, although he doesnt deserve one anyway as it's his fault the beans were ready. I noticed Gareth was reading one of the quotes I used on it ("Though lovers be lost, love shall not & death shall have no dominion") and I asked if he recognised it. He did but couldn't place it ((he looked so cute when he was trying to remembr. It's Dylan Thomas by the way; he's a fan. I do my homework you see.
Kai signed my photo and wrote "Where's my beans?!!" on it haha. Gareth signed his and they both signed my CoE DVD. They both signed Leeann's photo and DVD and then Jem asked Gareth to sign her photo and DVD. Unfortunately, she hadnt bought a photo for Kai (cue him sulking again) but he asked if she wanted him to sign her DVD anyway (bless him, he didnt have to do that).

While they were doing this, Jem's little girl Amber hid around the corner and wouldnt say hello to them. We tried to encourage her (she's met David Tennant before and wasnt nearly so shy!) but it wasn't until Gareth and Kai spoke to her that she came over. They told her she had a very pretty name and both shook her hand, bless them they were so sweet.
We then had photos with the boys (I'm on the right, with Jem).

Leeann got one on her own!

Looking forward to our trip to La Cage aux Folles in October now, as I plan on taking a tin for John too lol Am also going to write to Kai with a small gift, and apologise again lol
