Last week was the Royal Shakespeare Company's Open Day. I went down to Stratford for the week with friends, and saw 2 plays (The Winter's Tale & As You Like It) as well as took part in a range of activities and demonstrations on Open Day (19th July).

I managed to get a few autographs on Open Day itself, and after The Winter's Tale on 20th July.

On Open Day:

Jonjo O'Neill (Orlando in As You Like It) - such a crush on him! David Rubin, Tunji Kasim and Adam Burton, all from Winter's Tale and all very sweet.

After The Winter's Tale (I didnt have my programme with me, so got them to sign my copy of the text):

Image

1. Darrel D'Silva (Polixenes)
2. Kelly Hunter (Hermione) - also played Shadow Architect in Doctor Who Series 4
3. Brian Doherty (Autolycus)
4. .... oops. Labeling error!
5. Gruffudd Glyn (Young Shepherd)
6. David Rubin (again)
7. Sam Troughton (Dion) - played Much in Robin Hood
8. Noma Dumezweni (Paulina) - Captain Erisa Magambo in Doctor Who Series 4
9. Greg Hicks (Leontes)

I plan on sending my programmes to the theatre to get the ones I'm missing, as Forbes Masson is in the cast and I sadly missed him (he's a wee genius).

She was absolutley charming! Didn't even mention Who to her, as we'd enjoyed her performance so much we just chatted about other stuff. We tried to get a photo & posed but our camera wasn't working, but she laughed and said "at least we had bodily contact!" She was lovely :)

I hope id she comes up to London I'll find out before she ends! That sometimes happens to me with minor Who members!

Keep an eye out on the RSC website. She's in the cast til 2011 and they often (as with Hamlet & Dream) move the productions to London for a spell over the winter. They're not this year (going briefly to Newcastle instead) but they might do next year. Or, pop down to Stratford & see a play! Certain days are doing late night Stratford returns to London now.

Didn't know where to post this but as it's Shakespeare I thought to put it here.
Do you know if there's a stage door or something at the globe? And how easy it is to get autographs there?
Many Thanks.

I have no idea, as it's not only a different theatre but an entirely different city :) There is a stage door (a quick google turned up a video of Mark Rylance signing at it) but how easy it is to get to, I'm afraid I have no clue.

Try making a topic in Collecting Help and someone with knowledge of the theatre will be able to help you. Or try calling the theatre's general enquiries number 020 7902 1400.
