On 21st November I went to Stratford-upon-Avon to see Twelfth Night, starring Richard Wilson, James Fleet (Four Weddings & Vicar of Dibley) and Sam Alexander (a friend of mine).

Despite hearing that Richard had been avoiding the stage door (though he was said to have been very friendly if you spoke to him in the pub after the performance), I decided to take my chances and bring along my 1995 What the Butler Saw theatre programme. I bought it a few months ago, as part of my David Tennant collection (he also starred in it).

Happily, probably as it was the last night, Richard came out and signed for people. I asked if he'd sign my WTBS and he said yes.

He was also happy to pose for photos.

I didn't get chance to speak to James Fleet, but I did squeeze past him numerous times in the pub haha

The show is transfering to the west end and starts in a couple of weeks. I really want Richard and James. I hope Richard isnt too hard to get if he likes to avoid the stage door!

Well done

I know :) 19th Dec to 27th Feb, Duke of York's. I'd go down and see it again but I can't really afford to. Richard's yellow stockings are a sight not to be missed.

Good luck if you choose to go down. He's very friendly when he's in the mood for it. Just don't hound him if he sneaks off... he might go all Victor Meldrew on you!!

Lmao. Ironically, a mate of mine (who lives in Stratford) saw him in the pub & if people were in conversation with him & asked politely, he'd even say it for them! I'd never ask someone something like that, how bizarre!
